I admire the fact that you keep a running itinerary open about such a vibrant and classic city. The fact that Londoners are so close to the Royal Family and the Queen Elizabeth, Piccadilly square, Shakespeare, The Royal Ballet and chips and bangers. The art of London is as staid as portraits of King Henry the Eighth and Queen Bess the first or as wild as the sixties and now as abstract as Gina Bold. To tell you the truth I prefer your art because it is kinder and gentler. The little bit of art I saw on your website really romances the eyes. You have a soft, dreamy and elegant art style . I admire the Grecian art work on the site. The one island that I hope to visit someday is Santorini. I love the photos of whitewashed buildings eclipsed against a blazing curealian blue sky. There’s so much intense beauty on this earth. Thanks for bringing us a little chunk of heavenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-34662841966579056952010-04-28T06:23:57.316+01:002010-04-28T06:23:57.316+01:00You did manage to do lots of things, and enjoyable...You did manage to do lots of things, and enjoyable ones, too, AND you wrote about them extensively. I wouldn't beat myself up if I were you. And thank you for so many interesting pointer as to what to do in London when you've got nothing else on. Yes, it's been a busy and very productive time - now I need a rest! Not much chance of that with Xmas just a week away (and I'm no-where near ready!!!) Anyway, I wish you both a very happy one and a healthy and prosperous New Year.I'll pass your good wishes on to Mary who's arriving tomorrow for a flying visit again. I really, really wanted to go and see that Turner exhibition, I knew he was quite a character; I studied quite a lot about him whilst in my teens. I must get the book, I am sure I would find it a fascinating read. Sadly, I had one of those winter bugs that took me out for a couple of weeks, coupled with my day job that is soooo busy right now, we have a major project that is keeping me very well occupied. I feel as though I have done nothing in comparison, a book, Russia, loads of exhibitions…!

It sounds as though you had a lovely time with Mary, I love the painting but I love all of Mary's paintings.
It seems strange looking at all the Christmas sights of London, such a contrast to the scenes that I see. Glad to hear you are enjoying life…much love to you, your Dad and Mary if she is looking in. Merry Christmas and I wish you a very successful 2010.

Great photos btw :DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03252876587579985190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-69696148042402436422009-10-31T10:14:07.742+00:002009-10-31T10:14:07.742+00:00Unless I miss my guess much of the carping over Hi...Unless I miss my guess much of the carping over Hirst's new paintings springs from envy and enmity. I may not appreciate his work in the abattoir, but I do respond to some of these paintings. Hirst says they emerge from a deep connection with the past, and I see that. They also resonate with me beyond the intellectual critique. Like you, I'm especially drawn to THAT skull -- ashes to ashes, dust to dust . . . void to void, darkness to darkness. For me, his use of blue is just right as a chilly counterpoint to the blackness. Nonetheless, it offers comfort in much the same way (while we're on the subject of the color) blues music assuages, offering the heart respite in the recognition of despair and in the commiseration with other wounded souls.Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17491414521029416268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-23789109997000160212009-06-06T07:43:27.194+01:002009-06-06T07:43:27.194+01:00Thanks, Antje and Kimmary! Thanks, Antje and Kimmary!Yvonne Ayoubhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00320214395732136272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-78895828944853944762009-06-05T20:38:41.923+01:002009-06-05T20:38:41.923+01:00Wow! gorgeous!Wow! gorgeous!Kimmary MacLeannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-86164002559713803402009-06-02T10:38:20.127+01:002009-06-02T10:38:20.127+01:00I'm with you on this. I was fascinated with the "Pete the Street" posting, he sounds like the sort of artist it would be good to meet....a real character :-)

Then, I couldn't help but read on.....because I don't get it either and I feel as though I should. I have a deep rooted love of art and have spent many happy hours in various galleries but Picasso doesn't cut it for me. I long ago came to the conclusion that art is a very personal thing.

So then I could say that I appreciate realism on a personal level. But, that explanation doesn't really work either because I love the vibrancy of Van Gogh but his work could hardly be described as realism!

I would find it is interesting to see the comments of someone that does enjoy his work.
ChrissyXAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03252876587579985190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-84327762649365751352009-03-22T19:02:00.000+00:002009-03-22T19:02:00.000+00:00Wow man ur work looks good :) and originalWow man ur work looks good :) and originalAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7252703827620662054.post-14713513645466098542009-01-02T14:40:00.000+00:002009-01-02T14:40:00.000+00:00I found this on the art networkso the feed will do...I found this on the art networkso the feed will do xx I LOVE Panto !!
